Juliana Hwang-Levine
I am a basic science researcher and currently I hold an academic position in Southern California as Research Assistant Professor.

I received my Pharm.D. degree from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, with special emphasis in Biochemistry. I completed my degree with an internship at Bristol-Myers Squibb at the Department of Quality Control, in both microbiology and chemistry laboratory. After the completion of my studies, I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb at the Antibiotic Microbiology/Fermentation Department until moving to the U.S.
My professional interests include understanding the mechanisms behind cardiovascular disease and the prevention of this disease in postmenopausal women, but my true passion, which runs alongside with home cooking, is public well-being.
My professional affiliations include the American Heart Association, the North American Menopause Society. I have authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters in my field, presented work in national and international conferences, and I also currently serve on several professional committees.
